Electronic Assembly: Things To Look At Before Purchasing A Refurbished CT Scanner

By Stephen Cole

If you can afford expensive things then you will probably not like to buy used products, you ll want them new. Which is a good thing because they will be still giving their maximum performance. However, for those who want to cut costs, getting used things is a viable option with electronic assembly experts. The aim of this article is to highlight important elements that aid in the decision making the process of whether to buy a new or refurbished CT scanner.

There is a maximum amount of radiation that a human body can tolerate without getting a permanent change in its protein segment (DNA). Mostly, unplanned change in DNA sequence is undesirable, especially if the cause is from radiation. X-ray machines and other scanners release small amounts of radiation to be able to scan a human body, the emission is bearable of course. However, older ones may emit more radiation that may put people s lives in danger.

Another important factor to consider is its processing speed. Some things need to be detected quickly otherwise the patient may die, for example, internal bleeding. A fast scanner is needed to give accurate and quick results were needed. If it is too old then it is probably slow and will be tedious to use, thus, don t buy it.

Why are you buying this machine, what do you want it to do for you? This is what you should ask yourself to check if the machine you want to buy will cater for all your needs before actually buying it. If you want to avoid explanatory surgeries then you should probably buy one that gives distinct clear 3 dimensional images of all organs, bones, and veins. You must understand what the machine offers and compare to what you want.

A used machine may require you to spend more money on it even after the big purchase. Since the scanner is not brand new, it might break up regularly if not maintained properly. This means you will spend a lot of money buying repairing parts and replacing them. Regular maintenance also comes as a cost.

Some scanners are so old that when you buy them they will already have an expired warranty. It is very risky to buy them because should they start to malfunction you will have to pay for the fixing costs yourself. If possible, buy those that are still under warranty and find out how long the warranty will last. If not possible then investigate before making the purchase the type and cost of services available from the manufacturer after warranty.

Imagine having to tell your patients to come some other time because the machine is broken and needs repairing parts that will only arrive after 2 months since they were ordered from another continent. People could lose lives and you can lose clients. It is safer to buy one whose parts can be found locally or nearby.

It is not really clear if purchasing a refurbished scanner will save money without considering all the factors mentioned above. There are underlying costs that may arise with time, know them and choose wisely.
