Learn How To Use Your IPad To Its Full Potential

By Heather Eisternam

An iPad is versatile enough to provide use for many people. If you add a keyboard, it can be used for word processing. Use a joystick with it and you have a gaming system. You can even use it in the office to video conference with employees or customers. These tips help bring out the best in your iPad.

If your iPad is not charging when you plug it in the front of a computer, try to plug it in the back. Not all USB ports provide the same levels of power, and frontside USB ports tend to have lower power priority than rear ports. If you are still having problems, get a USB adapter that plugs into a wall outlet.

PDFs are difficult to view on any device, but the iPad works to make the process smoother. You can see these PDF documents with your iPad, and you can also sync your personal computer and transfer documents. This is useful for school, work, or business.

It's a bummer not knowing where a hyperlinked phrase is going to take you when surfing the net with your iPad. Although you cannot hover over the text to reveal its URL, you can touch and hold the text. Since you're not able to hover over words like on a computer, touching and holding the word will work. The hyperlink's URL will be shown.

If you are typing up documents using different text apps, such as Pages or Mail, it's possible to input a full stop. Simply hit the space bar twice after typing a complete sentence. Whenever you do this, the full stop is created. The full stop is excellent if you are writing a long document.

To copy and paste when using an iPad, tap, then hold down the text you are interested in. Then pick Select. Then you will choose copy and go to another application, then press and hold again. This will cause a menu to pop up, displaying Paste. Tap it. If you want to copy and paste a complete paragraph, tap four times.

To see what apps are currently running, click twice on the Home screen. This will allow you to see all of the running apps that you have. Use this function to check which apps are running, and close the ones you do not need.

If you're having trouble mastering your iPad, look for iPad forums online. There are a lot of great places you can go to so you can learn more about the iPad. Introduce yourself and search through the forums to see if you can find things that you didn't know about before.

You can wipe out your iPad battery pretty quick if you use the device to game, play music or stream video content for long periods of time. Adjusting the brightness is a great way to extend battery life. You'll probably see that you're not going to need the brightest setting to see your screen.

Your iPad's default setting lets you see two lines of a new email prior to you selecting it. It can help for you to see more lines before you open up the email. You can select mail from your settings. Then click on Contacts, then click Calendar and then finally select Preview Mail Options so that you can see more at one time.

If you do not get any volume on your iPad all you have to do is go to the settings, and then sounds. Set the Change with Buttons to On and the buttons will work. You can slide the volume up and down this way.

Watch how much money you spend on apps. Because your credit card is on file with the iTunes store, it is not hard to go overboard buying apps and then get a nasty credit card statement shock. Therefore, it is important to monitor your spending.

Whether you would like to do your homework, talk to far-away friends or play games, the iPad gives you the option of doing all that and more. You just have to know how to use it in the way you wish. Use the information in this article to get the most out of your iPad.
